A training session on Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) was arranged for the students of Mechanical Engineering by Mechanical Engineering Students’ Association (MESA) on 23rd February 2023 at Institute of Technology, Nirma University. The session was conducted by Dr. Narendra Nanivadekar, Dr. Santanu Deb, Dr. Ashok Bhandari, and Dr. Arti Motiani from the Advance Life Support & Basic Life Support Group of Indian Academy Of Pediatrics.
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (also known as basic life support or CPR) is a series of simple steps that can save the life of a victim of cardiac arrest. Most cardiac arrests (> 70%) occur in out of hospital settings. The best chance of recovery of the victim depends on effective CPR being administered by the person standing next to the victim upon immediate recognition of the condition. This skill is taught to all citizens of many developed countries so that they can save lives by performing effective CPR.
