“MESA Day” is the annual event wherein the Mechanical family comes together to celebrate the foundation of the club. MESA Day 2023 was organized on 26th April 2023. MESA day marks the end of an era for the students of 4th year and gives them a memorable farewell. It is a day filled with fun, enjoyment, and knowledge as students from the final year share their experiences in the institute and faculties shed their role as teachers but rather become their friends and share their experiences with students.
The event was inaugurated by Chief Guest Mr Bharat Patel, MD, Waterman Industries Pvt Ltd, Ahmedabad. Dr R N Patel, Director, ITNU; Dr K M Patel, Patron MESA; Mr Sunil Pandi, Trainng and Placement officer; Mr Om Lalvani (President, MESA), and Mr Shlok Panchal (Vice President, MESA) also graced the dais with the guest. The Chief Guest delivered a Keynote Address wherein he shared his life and industry experiences with the students. His address was well appreciated by the audience.
As an extension activity, a donation drive was held, wherein the empathy boxes were kept at various places on campus to collect donations of various items. All the collected items were distributed to the needy by MESA members.
In consideration of India’s presidency of G20 summit this year, an Alumni Panel Discussion was planned on the topic of “Sustainable Development” where in eminent alumni of Mechanical Engineering, Mr Sailesh Nimavat, Mr Pilak Shah, Mr Anjali Javeri, Dr Nityam Oza and Mr Tarun Bothra were invited as a panelist. The panelists presented their views on the topic. A fruitful discussion was held in a thought-provoking manner. The alumni members felt nostalgic after revisiting their alma mater.
Following the Alumni Panel Discussion, the handover ceremony was held as a part of the constitutional process, where the former president of MESA, Mr. Rushi Mehta, handed over the flag of MESA to the current president, Mr Om Lalvani. Following this, the flags of all four cadres, namely Acqua, Aeris, Ignis, and Terra, were handed over to the respective cadre captains by the current president. All the previous board members of MESA were felicitated with a certificate for their dedicated contribution to MESA.
A talent show named “MESA’s Got Talent” was held where students of mechanical engineering showcased their talent and the best two performers were awarded. Ms Tarjnee Bhadla, a Gujarati Movie actress and a theatre artist, graced the show as the Judge of the event.
The whole day was full of joy and enthusiasm with a mixture of social, technical, and non-technical events.
