The Department of Mechanical Engineering, Institute of Technology, Nirma University, successfully organized a two-week ISTE-approved Short Term Training Program (STTP) on “Research Frontiers in Thermal and Fluid Systems”, from June 16–27, 2025, under the aegis of IQAC, Nirma University.
This advanced training initiative brought together academic and industry experts to explore emerging domains in thermal and fluid sciences.

CFD Simulations using ANSYS Fluent and OpenFOAM
The STTP featured 27 technical sessions, including hands-on workshops, and welcomed 29 participants from various academic and research institutions. Out of the 27 sessions:
20 sessions were delivered by external experts from academia, R&D, and industry.
7 sessions were conducted by in-house faculty from the department.

These visits offered valuable insights into real-world applications of thermal and fluid technologies.
The program was inaugurated by Shri Dushyant R. Shah, SE & OSD, Energy & Petrochemicals Department, Government of Gujarat.
The valedictory function was held on June 27, 2025, chaired by Dr. K. M. Patel, Head of the Department.
