Bridging Academics & Industry: 2-Day Workshop on 6-DOF Collaborative Robots (UR10e)

The Centre for Robotics and Automation, in association with the Centre for Continuing Education, Nirma University, successfully organized a two-day hands-on workshop on “6-DOF Collaborative Robots (COBOT) – UR10e” on August 8–9, 2026.

Designed for undergraduate and diploma engineering students, the workshop provided a solid foundation in industrial collaborative robotics by combining theoretical rigor with real-world laboratory applications.

⚙️ Key Highlights of the Workshop:

🔹 Expert-Led Sessions: Comprehensive lectures and lab modules conducted by faculty members Dr. Prof. Jatinkumar Dave, Dr. Darshita Shah, Dr. Mihir Chauhan, and Dr. Dr Vishal Mehta.

🔹 Core Concepts & MATLAB Simulation: Participants explored robotics fundamentals, forward and inverse kinematics, and performed hands-on simulations using the MATLAB Robotics Toolbox.

🔹 Practical COBOT Experience: Attendees gained direct exposure to robot programming, operation, and kinematics using the 6-DOF UR10e collaborative robot, bridging the gap between classroom learning and industry-oriented robotic skills.

🔹 Broad Participation: A total of 23 enthusiastic students participated, including 10 from Nirma University and 13 from neighboring engineering institutions.

Initiatives like these empower the next generation of engineers with high-demand skills in industrial automation and collaborative robotics. Thank you to all the instructors, organizers, and energetic participants who made this event a resounding success!
