The Department of Mechanical Engineering, Institute of Technology, Nirma University, is immensely proud to celebrate another historic international triumph by Team Nirma AUV!
Carrying forward their legacy of excellence from winning the 2nd Prize (and 2000 SGD) at SAUVC 2025 at Singapore Polytechnic against teams from 13 countries, Team Nirma AUV has once again secured the Second Position along with a cash award of SGD 1,000 at the Singapore Autonomous Underwater Vehicle Challenge (SAUVC) 2026, held at Sanya, China (May 28–31, 2026).
SAUVC stands as one of Asia’s most prestigious autonomous underwater robotics competitions. The 2026 edition witnessed intense global rivalry:
🔹 Over 180 registered international teams worldwide
🔹 50 teams shortlisted for the finals after rigorous screening
🔹 31 elite teams competing on-site at the final venue
🔹 Fastest Record in Round 1: Completed the assigned challenge in just 14.2 seconds to top the round before clinching overall 2nd place!
