Highlights:

  • The department has been awarded funded research projects from various nationally reputed funding agencies such as Department of Science and Technology (DST), Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), as well state level funding agency Gujarat Council on Science and Technology (GUJCOST).
  • The department has established a National level thermal insulation Testing Laboratory under NAFETIC Scheme of AICTE which is actively involved in development and testing of thermal insulations.  
  • The department has offered consultancy services to industries in various areas of mechanical engineering such as design and development of textile engineering components / machinery, analysis of valves for nuclear applications, analysis of pumps etc. Also, Industry Customised Training Programmes are offered to suit the training needs of industry personnel in the specific domain.
  • International collaborative activities are initiated for students and faculty members and experts from leading international and national universities visit the department for interaction, conducting workshops and expert lectures.
