The SAE club, Institute of Technology, Nirma University, Ahmedabad organized the Technocalypse 2023 event, for students who had passed 12th grade and were interested in pursuing B.Tech. The event took place on April 23, 2023. More than 500 students participated in the event accompanied by their parents. The SAE Nirma Collegiate Club aims to develop students in various aspects and provides opportunities to students pursuing B.Tech to work on projects such as ATVs, Formula student vehicles, electric cars, aircraft, and drones.
The event was open for students and parents from all over Gujarat, and it started in the NIM auditorium. The event began with Saraswati Vandana, followed by an aerial and introductory video of the university. Dr. R.N. Patel, the Director of the Institute of Technology, Nirma University, provided career guidance to the attendees, giving them an overview of the various engineering disciplines offered at the university and the facilities provided. He along with Dr. K M Patel, Head of the Mechanical Engineering Department answered many questions from students and parents during the Q&A session. Mr. Sunil Pandi, the placement officer, gave a talk about the placement facilities at the university.
After this, the students and parents were given a campus tour, which was led by volunteer students from the SAE club. They visited several places, including the Workshop, Arrow lab, CRA lab, AUV center, Central library at B block, Centre of Excellence for data science at N block, labs at D block, Student activity center, and Cricket ground. A high tea was arranged for all the attendees during the break.
Additionally, there was a faculty interaction for the attendees who had further queries. Prof. R N Patel, Director of IT, NU; Prof. K M Patel, HOD Mechanical department; and the faculty advisors of the SAE Club were present to answer all the questions. The current students of the different departments also expressed their experiences and shared their views on the life of students at Nirma University.
