PRAVEG is the annual techno-management Fest and flagship event organised by the Mechanical Engineering Students? Association (MESA) and includes a number of technical competitions and workshops related to the field of robotics, automobile engineering and related activities. One of the prime attraction of the event is ?Know your Forces? wherein an awareness is created among the youth regarding the defense forces. Other literary events such as elocution, debate, youth parliament, etc. are also conducted with the objective to update the youth regarding various government initiatives and enabling them to utilise the initiatives better, pertinent events are organised on the lines of Make in India Program, Accessible India, etc.
Under the ?Know your Forces? campaign in the year 2018, the Border Security Force and the Coast Guard displayed their magnificent artillery and mighty war techniques and the Hon?ble Railway Minister of India Shri Piyush Goyal graced the occasion. In the year 2017, the Indian Air Force displayed the advanced Air Defense systems alongwith weaponry and Helicopter slithering demonstration and the Hon?ble Defence Minister of India Smt Nirmala Sitharaman graced the occasion. The first edition of PRAVEG in 2016 was inaugurated by (late) Shri Manohar Parrikar, Hon?ble Defence Minister of India, in the presence of Shri Vijay Rupani, Hon?ble Chief Minister, Gujarat, Dr. Karsanbhai Patel, President of Nirma University and several other dignitaries while the Indian Army displayed their state-of-the-art weaponry and war tactics.
NUTech is the annual technical festival of the Institute of Technology, organised and hosted by all the students? organisation. The students of Mechanical Engineering Department participate actively both as participants and event management members. MESA takes care of all the technical activities related to mechanical engineering planned under NUTech.
The Mechanical Engineering Students? Association (MESA) conducts the annual two day event ?Autocalypse? and ?Robocalypse? in which the school students of class 10th, 11th and 12th from local schools of Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar participate. The aim of this event is to nurture the young minds with a scientific and technical orientation by providing them with hands on experience related to technicalities of cars, bikes and robots. The event involves a series of interactive sessions, maintenance and training workshops conducted by experienced faculties and members of national level SAE and Robocon events.
